Why Make a Shrine?
I decided to make this shrine for the simple reason that I love this game series and that no one else has done it. While far from being the most obscure game series in the world, Enchanted Folk lacks documentation on the English web, so I hope that my shrine will be a resource for those looking for information.
Much of the information available online is locked behind private discord servers, defunct English websites. Much of information I have on the game comes Japanese fan sites.
I also want to share my love for the games. Not only was Enchanted Folk my favorite DS game growing up, aside from maybe Animal Crossing Wild World, but it’s been a source of creative inspiration for me to this day. My own OC world is inspired by the format of Enchanted Folk, taking small pieces of real folklore and making them my own. The whimsy of Enchanted Folk is unseen in any other game. I want more people to experience the joy and love I feel for this series.
This is a living shrine. Which is to say, it is not yet complete. I started working on this shrine sometime in 2023, but it’s gone at a snails pace. I decided just now in 2025 to use it as an opportunity to learn a PHP development workflow. As a result, I finally have a clean-enough couple of pages to share with the world. I am far from done, though, so please check back if you are interested in more.
Here are some of my plans for this shrine:
- My personal experience with the game
- My favorite parts of the game
- Differences from Animal Crossing
- A page to showcase official art
- Warashi Child Guide - seriously, there isn’t a single one on the open web in English!
- Gameplay guides for becoming an idol and becoming a model
- Emulation settings for clean graphics
- My fan art, both recent and going back to childhood
- Resources and further reading
- Freebies and other goodies for your site
- Fan listing
